Honor Associations

La Jolla High School Chapter of the Cum Laude Society

Seniors Only:
It is an honor to be invited to be a member of the La Jolla High School Chapter of the Cum Laude Society, a famous honor society for high school students, inspired by Phi Beta Kappa, the most famous collegiate honor society.

Only the top 20% of seniors based on the first semester weighted 10-12th grade GPA and who are currently eligible for selection based on good standing reviewed by counselor and administrators in order to be invited.

Invitations are sent to individual seniors after first semester grades are posted, usually sometime in late February or early March, via letter or e-mail.

Members participate in an induction ceremony, usually in late May, or during the Senior Awards Assembly in June.

The Cum Laude Society was founded in 1906 upon the concepts of arête (excellence), dike (justice), and time (honor).
